Top Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders told on Friday night that the TMC has decided to take action against its MP and Bengali film actresses Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan. Let us tell you that both of them became MPs by winning their respective seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
A senior TMC MP said, “The decision to send show cause notices to Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan was formally taken two days ago in our parliamentary committee meeting. He ignored the leadership’s instructions and abandoned the sit-in to protest the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha members.”
Let us tell you that in the winter session, 12 Rajya Sabha MPs were suspended for allegedly ‘disturbing behavior’ during the monsoon session. More than 100 opposition MPs protested in the Parliament complex against this suspension. Two of these MPs are also involved in TMC. A senior TMC leader in Kolkata said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and Lok Sabha member from Diamond Harbor Abhishek Banerjee also changed her schedule to join the agitation near Gandhi’s statue in Parliament. He also held meetings with MPs. Both these MPs remained absent. This angered the party leadership.
